[Nov. 2020] A Siemens SGT800A+ gas turbine generator plant is offered form Western Europe for relocation as of April 2021. This open cycle GT plant has been in operation since 2005 and will have about 110,000 EOH and 900 starts upon it’s decommissioning next Spring.

Modifications as recommended by Siemens for this SGT-800 type have all been implemented ever since commissioning: New blade profiles were installed in 2009 and a new type of burner in 2011, all as part of regular inspections. The gearbox was renewed in 2017 and will have around 18,000 OH when it will be taken out of service.

The set will be sold almost complete, just a few peripheral items will remain on site such as the control, lubricating oil and cooling water systems. In turn, these main components are part of the package:

–         GT compressor

–         GT combustion chamber with burner

–         GT turbine

–         Gear box

–         Generator (alternator)

The current maintenance contract with the manufacturer Siemens will be active until ultimate shut-down. The system was strictly maintained according to the maintenance plan. The last comprehensive inspection was carried out in summer 2019. A corresponding certificate from Siemens is available. The operator will still use this open cycle plant as backup system in Winter 2020-2021, before the existing set will be routinely replaced by a new one.

This 45 MWe power plant can still be viewed in operation during this winter season. The top offer asking price is EUR 1.9 million, already dismantled.
