[Feb. 2026] This offer (PPO-192) comprises five well-maintained cogeneration power plant units with Caterpillar G3520 C or G3520 E gas engines providing in total 10 MWe capacity, which have been commissioned in 2011 and 2012. This engine-driven gas CHP plant was designed for base-load or medium-load operations with electricity feed-in into the 50 Hz public grid.

These combined heat and power (CHP) units form Western Europe with still quite modern Caterpillar engine generators are capable of highly flexible power generation with capacity range up to 10 Mwe and short start-up times. At maximum load, total thermal output is almost 25 MWth with temperature of up to 120 degrees C at a pressure of 16 bar. These power plants are designed for highly efficient operation with an electrical efficiency of 42.5% and a thermal efficiency of 47.2%.

The operator of these fixed installations has decided to mothball and preserve the units due to a general change in district heat supply. Due to their moderate use (between approx. 35,000 to 50,000 operating hours) and the continuous supervision and maintenance, all units are still in excellent condition.

These engine-driven gas CHP units are still fully operational and are offered as a package for USD 1.85 million or as single, complete units for USD 400,000 each. Purchasing these sets provides significant cost advantages over new equipment (with current new-build price of approx. USD 15 million for the entire package) and enables rapid project implementation.
